Buoyant: A history of swimming in Western Australia
Past Event
The sport of swimming has been a significant part of Western Australian life since the 1880s, when Perth’s first public baths were built. Until Swimming WA commissioned Ken Spillman to write Buoyant, however, its history had been seriously neglected. While celebrating the stories of some famous Western Australians, Spillman’s book has also uncovered many forgotten stars. Ken will speak of his journey writing the book and take listeners on a splash and dash through the decades.
