Josie de Bray, aka Madam Monnier, was a brothel madam who owned most of Roe Street, Perth from WW1 up to the 1940s. Josie is just one of the many women who paraded in their petticoats on the verandas of Roe Street and is featured in the latest book from award-winning author Leigh Straw.
Leigh Straw is Senior Lecturer in History at The University of Notre Dame. Come and listen to historian and academic talk about the stories in her latest book.
