What are the awards?
To uncover and preserve Vincent's important history, the City celebrates the annual Local History Awards which play an important role in recording the various aspects of life in Vincent. The Awards are open to anyone (including non-residents) who wishes to enter, and share their history of life in the City.
In 2017 we are inviting photographic entries only. Unsure what to enter?
We are interested in photographs (prints or slides) taken in Vincent prior to 1999. Bring your slides and albums into the Local History Centre and we’ll help you to decide.
CATEGORY ONE (INDIVIDUAL PHOTOGRAPH)
Includes: landscapes, streetscapes, houses, buildings interiors, people at home, work, groups, sport and recreation, events.
There are three sections for individual photos/slides
>Pre-1930 >1930 to 1959 >1960-1999
Three prizes of $100 in each section
CATEGORY TWO (SERIES)
A photo study of two to six photographs.
This may feature: changes over time, a building interior and exterior in the same period, a house history including occupants, then and now, or a series relating to an event.

Sponsored by the Mount Hawthorn Primary School P&C. (The school archives are now in the Local History Centre.)
Photographs become part of the City’s Local History Collection, including the fantastic online Image Library.
