We are excited to announce that the library will reopen on Monday, 20 July following a major refurbishment and we can't wait to welcome you back!
Over the past several weeks the library has undergone a significant refresh to create a more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone. Highlights include:
- Easier to navigate shelving and a refreshed library layout designed to make browsing easier.
- Updated furniture, study spaces and reading areas.
- New carpet, lighting and upgraded technology throughout the library.
- Improved accessibility features and safety measures for visitors and staff.
- Better acoustics throughout the library to create quieter, more welcoming spaces.
- Enhanced spaces for children, families, young people and lifelong learners.
- New and refreshed programs, services and community offerings.
We can't wait to reopen the doors and share the new space with our community.
Programs and Services
Alongside the refreshed space, we’re also introducing an updated programs and services schedule.
To support this new direction, Story Time and Rhyme Time will now run weekly, giving our team more time to develop new experiences for the community.
While these much-loved programs will continue to be a core part of our service, the adjusted schedule will allow our team to invest time in developing new experiences that respond to the changing needs and interests of our community.
- New family and children's programs, including sensory and themed sessions.
- More community-led initiatives and partnerships.
- Outreach activities delivered beyond the library, including programs in parks and other community spaces.
Libraries today are about much more than what happens within our four walls. By rebalancing our schedule, we'll be able to reach more people, trial innovative ideas and create a broader range of experiences for the community while continuing to deliver the quality programs our members know and love.
