Settlement Struggle and Success: Margaret River Then and Now

Come down to the Local History Centre to hear Jenny and Bill Bunbury speak on the rich history of the Margaret River, from the pre-colonial Indigenous history, to 19th and 20th colonial exploration and expansion, and to what it has become today.

This fascinating talk is based Settlement, Struggle and Success, which was recently nominated for the Margaret Metcalfe award, and will be accompanied with audio snippets from the interviews that made up part of the research for the book.

About the authors

Jenny and Bill Bunbury are accomplished historians and authors that have a passion Western Australia's history, where they have lived and worked for over 60 years. Their work has a focus on indigenous history and has championed Noongar and Wadjela voices. In 2016, Bill was awarded an Order of Australia for his services to Broadcasting and Aboriginal communities.
