Sewing Workshop at the Local History Centre

More and more people are wanting to learn the analogue skills that are being increasingly left behind in the 21st century. So, the City of Vincent Library and Local History Centre is proud to present the first in what will hopefully be a series of workshops that focus on 20th Century Skills.

In this first workshop, Local History Librarian and amateur seamstress Adam will go through the basic steps of how to setup and use a sewing machine and how to put together your first sewing project; a tote bag.

If you’ve wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine to start making your own projects or clothes, or just to repair a few of your favourite garments, but you didn’t know where to start, you do now!

All material and sewing machines will be provided to allow you to walk away with a tote bag you’ve made yourself, but you can also bring in your own fabric and threads if you have something particular in mind.
