Following community feedback received in our latest Library Survey, the City of Vincent Library is refreshing its collection to better serve the community and improve the browsing experience.
Books and other materials are now being arranged by popular genres such as mystery, science fiction, fantasy, romance, crime, and more.
This intuitive organisation will make it easier for visitors to discover stories they love, explore new authors and navigate the Library more naturally.
What’s happening now
The project is well underway across the Library.
We are currently updating labels across all collections, introducing clearer genre names, new spine labels and consistent signage to support the new browsing system.
Earlier phases of the work were completed in the Young Adult and Large Print collections, where refined genres, updated labels and new curation methods have already been implemented.
Our online catalogue and website have also been updated to align with the new system, making it easier to browse and discover items both in person and online.
You may notice changes to shelving, signage and item placement as this work progresses.
What’s coming next
To support the next stage of this project, including the installation of brand new shelving, the Library will be temporarily closed throughout June.
We look forward to welcoming you back in July to a refreshed, easier‑to‑browse and more welcoming library space.
