Mount Hawthorn Primary School Archives

In February 2017, the City of Vincent Local History Centre and Mount Hawthorn Primary School launched the placement of the school's and Margaret Kindergarten's archives in their new home in the Local History Centre.

Hundreds of photographs and some documents, including early school registers, have been processed by volunteers (over 140 hours) into archival folders, which makes browsing the collection easy, within the pleasant surrounds of the Local History Centre. Photographs range from the early 1900s to the 1990s.

There is currently an exhibition of photographs from the collection which can be viewed during Local History Centre opening hours.

The local history team would like to hear from anyone who would like to speak and share a few minutes of memories at the school or kindergarten. (They are particularly interested to hear from anyone who attended the Margaret Kindergarten and was evacuated to Toodyay in 1942.)
