East Perth Primary School on Wittenoom and Bennett Streets East Perth operated from 1895 until the 1970s.

The school educated generations of East Perth children, including many working class, migrant and Aboriginal children.  When the residential population of East Perth declined and the school building was converted for use as a children’s court in the 1970s.  It was sold by EPRA in the 1990s and is today used as offices.

Many storytellers shared memories of attending East Perth Primary School as children, or Perth Modern School as teenagers in the 1960s.
