Moorditj Lives
Storytellers recalled the shared events and experiences of living in East Perth.
These experiences, both good and bad, helped build a sense of community and connection to one another and to the area.
Moorditj Places
East Perth was once home to a community of Noongar people from the 1950s to the 1970s.
They lived alongside other residents in what was a vibrant community of battlers and survivors.
The parks, houses, camps, shops, factories, dance halls and stomping grounds that were important to Noongar people who once lived in East Perth don’t appear on any official maps.
These special places are carried in the hearts and minds of many former Noongar residents.
