Garden Upgrade Works

Published on Tuesday, 1 August 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

This week Landscape works will commence around the City of Vincent's Administration building.

Included in the 2017/18 Administration Centre operating budget is funding to upgrade sections of the front garden area to reduce water use and maintenance costs, as well as, replace some of the plant species which have past their used by date.

The upgrade will commence on Thursday 3 August 2017 with removal of some healthier mature shrubs that are being transplanted to the Braithwaite Park nature Play area. Major demolition and preparation works will be undertaken on Sunday 13 August 2017 and all works will be completed by end August 2017.

Works include:

  • Removal of shrubbery (some of the larger healthier plants are being relocated to the Braithwaite Park nature play area)
  • Regrading of garden beds
  • Installation of a sub-surface irrigation system
  • Replanting with native shrubs/groundcovers (that will not require regular hedging and maintenance)
    Mulching

As a result of these works, some areas around the front of the building will be cordoned off during this period. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and trust you will all enjoy the new sustainable garden areas once they become established.
